FAQs

How do I enrol?

To enrol onto a course at Padworth Summer School, fill out the online application form. A member of our team will then get in touch with you to arrange payment of the deposit and to confirm a place.

Do we offer an airport transfer service?

Yes. We offer an Arrivals airport transfer service from London Heathrow and Gatwick Airports. The service operates between 8am – 4pm on Arrivals Day.

We also offer a Departures airport transfer service from London Heathrow and Gatwick Airports. The service operates for flights departing between 7am – 4pm on Departures Day.

What is the arrival procedure?

Students will be met by Padworth Summer School staff in the arrivals area at the airport (unless the arrivals time is outside the timings of the airport transfer service). Students will then be taken to the College and registered by taking their passport, issuing them with a student lanyard, collecting any medical details, pocket money and then shown to their room by a member of our dedicated boarding team, they will then have a scheduled orientation session to show them around the campus and engage in team building games to forge relationships with other students on the course.

I am bringing my child directly to the Summer School. When should I drop them off and pick them up?

You must drop your child off at Padworth Summer School on Arrivals Day no earlier than 10am and no later than 3pm.

When I drop my child off, can I see their room and help them to unpack?

Unfortunately, this is not possible for safeguarding reasons.  To ensure the safety of all students on-site, we request all parents to wait in the main hall whilst the students are shown their rooms. Only staff with relevant police checks can access the boarding houses. We also politely ask all parents to remain on-site for no more than 1 hour and ask them to leave before 4pm so we can start the afternoon team building activities.

What will the accommodation be like?

All students, unless requested, will be accommodated in a single study bedroom which contains a desk and wardrobe. There are common room areas with a TV in both boys’ and girls’ residences.  Boys and girls are accommodated separately in different areas.

What will my child have to bring?

Please refer to our packing list for a full list of items your child will need to bring with them

What happens if my child is ill?

Medical care is available through the Summer School team and there is a medical room on site. In the event a student needs to see a local GP, a member of the Summer School team will make appointments for students where appropriate and accompany them.

Can you cater for different dietary requirements?

We can cater for all dietary requirements when notified in advance.
